We’ve been blasting this out on our social media outlets but we figured why not share on the blog too right? We had a blast making this hilarious sequel to last year’s Ride Your Bike to Work joke. We definitely took it to the next level. Thanks Matt Reamer for helping out!
I came across this awesome screwdriver car key mod and thought, “This is awesome!” Then I dug a little bit deeper into the site I was on, HaHaBird, and found a handful of other amazing little projects. So I’m sharing it here. HaHaBird is Nathan. Nathan is “a guy who enjoys making things, whether with wood, fabric, metal, or electrons.” His projects are fun and really well documented, making a few pretty easy to try yourself. The screwdriver key mod and USB Mixtape are both on our list to replicate. Thanks Nathan!
Check out this ridiculously awesome project from Google. World Wide Maze allows you to turn any web page into a 3D Maze game. The even more amazing part of all this is that you can sync your phone to your web browser to control the game. We gave it a whirl with the WORK Labs site as well as the Google homepage. We’d love to see some developers create unqiue pages just for this.

I’ve always loved vintage travel posters. A few years ago I was on vacation and there were a whole bunch of ski travel posters framed in a ski lodge. I was super jealous and wanted my own. These free vintage travel posters aren’t quite up to scale with those I saw on my trip, but they are big enough that you could do some fun decorating around your house or apartment. Get a couple of cheap frames from the thrift store and get your pad looking worldly.

We don’t post a huge amount of advertising here but we saw this today and had a huge laugh. Grey Poupon has been doing some really great work with CP+B as of late and this is just another excellent piece in our opinion. A trailer for Lost Footage from the classic Grey Poupon commercial.
Ben Pieratt is selling a brand he created for no particular product. For $18,000 you can buy an identity system, GUI elements, signage concepts, and social network accounts. What a great example of a designer switching from a problem solver, to an opportunity seeker.

Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the computer and work with raw materials to produce something visually rewarding. It doesn’t get much more raw than this. Meat America is a project from Photographer and Sculptor Dominic Episcopo. From the Meat America Facebook, “Meat America is a state of mind, an eye-opening and artery-closing tour of America’s spirit of entrepreneurship, rebellion and positivity.” We posted a few appetizers below. You can check out the whole entree at Meat America’s Facebook page.
I love these foldable shelves. I love the description on the site even more. Klaffihylly is a small space, “Slim fit” storage unit, which is designed to facilitate the home states of chaos. Chaos would be the correct term to describe our current storage situation.
So I ran across this packaging at the market and thought it was blog worthy. A quick google search informed me that this product is made right here in Richmond. Had I been in need of a gag gift at the time, I just might have purchased one. What a clever little lollipop.
We have always been a big fan of the Field Notes memo books. Their new Expedition Edition books are made from Yupo, a new type of synthetic paper that is 100% recyclable, waterproof and tree-free. Field Notes took their project to the next level, testing the extreme memo books in a series of field tests. These are absolutely WORK Labs Approved. Check out a sample below. Here, artist Jillian Tamaki has hand drawn every brand that she could remember. This would be a good class exercise!
It’s really incredible how the PANTONE® brand has grown. Not only can you find the perfect color for your company’s logo, but now you can also buy PANTONE® brand goodies like mugs, bags, iphone cases and a whole lot more. This brand communicates color across an extraordinary variety of industries and is known worldwide as the standard language for color. Very awesome!
Despite what some people think, design really doesn’t have to be complicated. In this case, something as small and as simple as a button has been cleverly designed to control earphone cords. Brilliant!
New York Mouth is an awesome site where you can find delicious items, while having a really great experience browsing. Very tasty eye candy for creatives and foodies alike!
Check out their great ‘about me’ page: About Mouth
