It's that time of year again! WORK Labs is taking holiday spirit to a new level of analysis. We're asking all you folks out there in Winternet Wonderland to give us your take on the holidays. Are you a miserable ol' Scrooge? Or are you the type that likes to eat, drink and be merry?
Check out our holiday spirit survey and let us know how you feel. A special reward awaits you. We didn't get drunk/dressed up for nothing.
Ever want to know what Ukrops looked like in 1953? Or what bands played at VCU in the 70′s? With Vintage Richmond you can learn all of this and more.
We’re doing our part. We did some digital billboards for Ortho On-Call and they are running at VCU Basketball games so go support your Rams and peep our ad!
This absolutely blew our minds this morning. We are closing down our Richmond operation and moving out West.
I stumbled across this radness this afternoon. Shred for Your Life is a guitar shredding contest held in New York where contestants have one minute to shred for their lives. Originally conceived in the back of a New York bar in 2005, the contest has been running and getting more popular ever since. Looks pretty awesome if you ask me.
Had someone blocking the driveway this morning and showed them some creative love. Borrowed a great bit of awesomeness from http://youparklikeanasshole.com. Let’s just say they weren’t too stoked!
If you’re having a difficult time thinking of gift ideas for your friends this holiday season, we have the perfect solution that will please any recipient: Burger Wrapping paper. We know that this isn’t a gift per se, but we’ve decided that this wrapping paper would make any gift look awesome.
Take a bite:
Congratulations to Peter Coughter from WORK Labs. He’s written a book to teach people how to be better presenters. Which is what he’s best at. Other than being tall and awesome.
The book is titled The Art of the Pitch. Its release is an opportunity to be reminded of the things Professor Coughter taught us and insisted, to our continued benefit, that we put into practice.
The release of his book is also an opportunity to evidence the power and solidarity of the alumni of our school. Our goal is to get enough pre-orders to get the book onto the New York Times or Amazon Books Bestseller list for Advertising by the Jan. 3, 2012 launch.
It’s available on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Art-Pitch-Persuasion-Presentation-Business/dp/0230120512
And the book has its own website, www.theartofthepitch.info, where you can read quotes from Professor Coughter’s impressive admirers who have already read the book. Dan Wieden for instance: “From the very first chapter, Coughter redefines the challenge, resets the approach and shares invaluable tales from the front lines that will make you ache for a chance to get back in the game.”
Get the book because you want to be the best presenter you can be. Get the book because you’re an Adcenter/Brandcenter alum. Get the book because you love Peter Coughter.
It’s no surprise Steven Spielberg chose Richmond, VA to shoot the new Lincoln film. A proper town for an original gangster like Lincoln who thrived in his mission to free his fellow man from the shackles of tyranny! These pieces by Mason London juxtapose historical figures with illustrated OG attire. Just imagine these guys forming the modern day equivalent of Wu-Tang back in the day.
