Very interesting stuff. How long until the machines are using us as fuel?
Came across the 50 and 50 website this afternoon. A simple concept with some beautiful executions. “Fifty and Fifty is a curated project which attempts to construct a handsome new way of looking at our country. Fifty designers, one per state, will illustrate their state motto, creating something steeped in history but completely modern and unique: a kind of designer’s atlas.” I picked out a few I liked. Check the rest out 50 and 50
Great demonstration of the C.H. Hanson ProSharp pencil sharpener. This thing rules!
I’ve seen this company on design blogs over the past few months and I always wondered about them. They make axes. The Best Made axes, right here in America. I love how simple and clean everything is. At the same time there is still a great ruggedness and raw utility. I found these short clips of the Best Made axes in action. A short series of films called chop.

You remember when you used to fold up currency and have the letters line up to spell things? Dan Tague did the same recently. The folds have a great organic, naturalness that makes them seem unforced, but the messages are extremely relevant in the context. You can check them all out at the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery site.
